Frequent Asked Questions

Where do I consult and perform my surgeries in Malaga?

I consult and perform all of my surgical procedures at the Quirónsalud Malaga Hospital (Av. Imperio Argentina, 1). For me, my patients' safety is non-negotiable; therefore, all surgeries take place within a premier hospital setting equipped with intensive care units, highly experienced anaesthetists, and 24-hour specialised medical care.

What is my specialty and professional background?

I hold a dual specialisation that allows me to approach the face from a unique perspective: I am a specialist in Otolaryngology (via MIR residency at the Virgen de la Victoria Hospital in Malaga) and a specialist in Facial Plastic Surgery from the prestigious CES University of Medellín (Colombia). Furthermore, I am an active member of the Spanish Society of Otolaryngology (SEORL) and the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (EAFPS), maintaining continuous international training.

What are the benefits of having nose surgery with a surgeon who is also an Otolaryngologist?

The nose is, first and foremost, a vital respiratory organ. By combining my training as an otolaryngologist and a facial plastic surgeon, I have the unique ability to address your nose comprehensively in a single surgery: I resolve internal functional issues (such as a deviated septum, sinusitis, or enlarged turbinates) at the same time as I mould the aesthetic appearance. The result is a nose that is beautiful on the outside and fully functional on the inside.

What is ultrasonic rhinoplasty and why is my postoperative recovery more comfortable?

It is the technological evolution of nose surgery. Instead of using traditional osteotomes and hammers to break the bone, I employ a high-precision piezoelectric (ultrasonic) device that cuts and sculpts the bone with millimetre accuracy whilst respecting the soft tissues, blood vessels, and cartilage. This drastically reduces postoperative pain, swelling, and bruising, allowing for a much faster recovery and, in the vast majority of cases, without the need for uncomfortable nasal packing. sin necesidad de incómodos taponamientos nasales.

I do not live in Malaga, how can we arrange an online evaluation with me?

I have designed a specific remote consultation protocol for national and international patients. We can schedule an initial video consultation where we will analyse your case, evaluate your clinical photographs, and plan any necessary diagnostic tests before you arrange your travel to Malaga.

If you are travelling from abroad or outside Malaga, do I offer support with your stay?

I completely understand that undergoing surgery away from home requires impeccable logistics. Due to the excellent location of Quirónsalud Malaga Hospital (very close to Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport and the coast), we will provide you with ideal accommodation recommendations for your recovery, local transfer options, and close postoperative wound-care monitoring during the days you need to remain in the area.

Is the recovery after nose, ear, or lip surgery painful?

There is a common myth that these surgeries are highly painful, but the reality in my practice is quite different. By utilising minimally invasive preservation and micro-surgical techniques, tissue trauma is kept to an absolute minimum. Recovery from rhinoplasty does not involve sharp pain, but rather a feeling of congestion similar to a heavy cold. For otoplasties or earlobe repairs, discomfort is mild and easily managed with standard painkillers that I will prescribe for you.

How can you request a consultation with me?

To book your personalised evaluation consultation at my Quirónsalud Malaga practice, you can do so via two highly convenient options: by calling or sending a direct message to my secretary on WhatsApp at +34 639 352 207, or by directly booking your appointment online through my professional profile on the Top Doctors platform.
