Facial Anatomy Through the Lens of Art and Science
My training in oil painting shaped the way I see long before I ever held a scalpel. Understanding how light and shadow fall across the contours of a canvas draws on the same sensitivity I bring to refining the nasal structure or restoring the deeper contours of the face.
After more than 12 years devoted exclusively to the anatomy and appearance of the head and neck, I believe true excellence lies not in imposing dramatic changes, but in seeking natural harmony that respects each face’s anatomy and identity.
Training and Professional Experience
For more than 12 years, my professional career has centred on ENT and facial plastic surgery, with a particular focus on head and neck anatomy. Continuing professional development has been a constant throughout this journey, allowing me to incorporate contemporary techniques and approaches into my practice, always with careful attention to precision and surgical safety.
I completed my specialist medical training in ENT at Hospital Virgen de la Salud in Toledo, before undertaking further training in facial plastic surgery at CES University in Medellín, Colombia. Throughout my career, I have completed clinical placements with facial surgery specialists. I am a member of the Spanish Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery and serve on the board of Facialis Academy.
Today, alongside my private practice, I lead the specialist Facial Plastic Surgery clinic at Hospital Quirónsalud Málaga.
My Approach to Care
I approach facial plastic surgery from two complementary perspectives: medical rigour and artistic sensitivity. Oil painting taught me to observe how light, shadow and volume shape a face and, above all, to notice the subtle features that make it recognisable.
That way of seeing informs my surgical practice: not imposing a particular shape, but preserving expression and seeking a harmony that still feels entirely your own.
Choosing to undergo a facial procedure deserves time, information and trust. Our faces are part of our identity and of how we recognise ourselves and connect with others. That is why my approach to medicine rests on two principles I will never compromise: listening carefully and exercising sound clinical judgement.
