The importance of simulation and profile measurement
PROFILOMETRY
After carefully listening to the patient's desires, a functional assessment is conducted using a nasofibendoscope, followed by a meticulous physical examination. This examination evaluates, among other factors, skin thickness, cartilage quality, and the length of the nasal bones. A series of measurements are then taken to assess facial dimensions (profilemetry), and photographs are captured from multiple angles. It is with all this comprehensive information that the simulation is subsequently performed.
SIMULATION
In our practice, simulation is of vital importance to us. Through digital imaging, patients gain a clearer understanding of their surgery and the potential outcomes based on their unique facial features, skin quality, and cartilaginous and bony structures. This establishes a completely direct and clear doctor-patient communication that helps to understand and address the patient's expectations, providing invaluable information that leads to a more precise surgical approach.
For the patient, this process eliminates uncertainty and the fear of not recognising themselves after surgery, facilitating direct, clear, and honest communication with the surgeon. It allows them to align their expectations with clinical reality and resolve any queries in real time.
For our team, the simulation serves as a surgical roadmap. In conjunction with profilemetry, it enables us to define every single objective to the millimetre before entering the operating theatre. Planning the procedure with this level of detail ensures a predictable and safe outcome, which translates into more precise techniques and a significantly shorter, more comfortable post-operative recovery. Our commitment is to achieve the change you desire, whilst always preserving the harmony and total naturalness of your face.
